Dex Lets Joss Into His Past — And We Finally Learn Where This Guy Comes From

General Hospital Spoilers suggest Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) is about to take his relationship with Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) a step further this holiday season.

No, we’re not looking for diamond rings or even a proposal to move in together, but Joss is finally going to learn a bit more about her beau and the life that shaped him.

On her coattails, we will too. Dex has been in Port Charles for more than a year and a half now, and we still know very little about his upbringing, his family, or his life before the mob with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — apart from being discharged from the military, that is.

Will we glean any information about Dex that leaves us with a better understanding of how he came to have the sense of loyalty he does to Sonny and his dark underworld?

General Hospital Spoilers — Who Are Dex’s Parents?

Rumor has it Dex might share some details of his upbringing with Joss in the week ahead that could lead her to speculate about his family tree.

If we know Joss, she’s just like her mother in that regard. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) never could let sleeping dogs lie. If there’s a mystery, Joss might be inclined to solve it.

If Dex doesn’t know who his birth parents are, it might drive Joss to want to figure it out and solve that puzzle for him. Of course, she will have good intentions, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be surprises at the end of that rainbow.

GH Spoilers Claim Family Ties Do Bind

This all leads us to question…does Dex have family in Port Charles he hasn’t clued anyone in on — including those individuals?

If he’s adopted, there is a chance this will be the beginning of a new storyline that traces his paternity back to someone we are all still longing for — Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

It’s been suggested before that Dex could also be Lily Corinthos’ (Lilly Melgar) child — and that Lily was actually still alive and taken from the scene when a car bomb exploded and convinced Sonny his first wife and their unborn child perished in the accident.

General Hospital Spoilers — Looking Ahead

Could Dex have had a rough childhood that shaped him into a man who is easily persuaded by danger and special treatment to want to be a part of something as sinister as the mob — or worse, the drug trade?

Sure. But it sounds like his childhood also left him longing for a connection to a real family that he felt like he belonged in.

Maybe that’s the itch that Sonny’s organization is actually scratching for him. Regardless, if Joss is left thinking she can resolve that trauma by finding out who Dex’s birth parents are, we may all be in for a major surprise.
