On vacation in Brazil, the three-time world champion didn’t stay away from the slopes and enjoyed moments of relaxation with his girlfriend’s relatives

Since starting a relationship with Kelly Piquet, Max Verstappen began spending the end of year festivities in Brazil. In 2023, it has been no different. Two days ago, the three-time Formula 1 world champion attended thewedding of his brother-in-law Nelsinho Piquet in Itatiba, in the interior of São Paulo.

This Saturday (23/12), he participated in a kart race with his girlfriend’s family in Brasília.

It caught the attention of internet users that Verstappen arrived at the place where the kart race took place in a kombi alongside his beloved Kelly.

The van is stylized, with red and white paint. The Dutchman opened the door and was the first to get out of the vehicle. He and his girlfriend wore casual attire, in a very unusual scene.

Verstappen and Kelly did not record the moment on their social media pages, but Nelsinho Piquet published some videos.

 

The game started when the sunlight had already gone away and the kart track’s reflectors needed to be turned on. When they returned home, they even played a little Mario Kart.

In one of the videos, it is possible to see that one of the linesmen at the edge of the track was startled by the passing of one of the karts. “We almost killed the poor linesman,” wrote Nelsinho. Verstappen responded to fan requests and distributed some autographs and selfies.

The next Formula 1 season will start on the first weekend of March 2024, in Bahrain. Verstappen arrives with the weight of favoritism and promises to fight hard for his fourth world championship. The big question is whether this time he will have a worthy opponent to compete for the title
