LeBron James has done little to shed his corny dad image. The Los Angeles Lakers star stayed true to form with his Instagram post on Christmas Eve.
James put on arguably his best performance of the season Saturday in a 129-120 win over the OKC Thunder at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The 38-year-old poured in a season-high 40 points with 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in the victory.
On Sunday, James posted his version of the viral “not real” airplane meme to commemorate his monster game.
“That motherf—-r back there is not real,” the woman in the video said, as the camera pans to James celebrating in the middle of the airplane’s aisle.
James included a caption that channeled some major dad joke energy.
“Somebody come get her ASAP! She trying to blow my damn cover! #ThekidfromAKRON,” said James, referring to the woman in the meme.
In all fairness to King James, he has been an actual father for 19 years and counting. Dad jokes may simply come with the territory.
James also recently displayed some fatherly affection on Instagram with a heartfelt message to his son Bronny, who returned to basketball after suffering a cardiac arrest in July.
When you’re a loving father who’s still dropping 40-point games in the NBA while pushing 40, you arguably deserve to post whatever you like
