The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) is finally sharing a bit more about her past. In the January 4 episode, Audra opened up to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about her father’s issues and how he ultimately lost his fight with alcoholism.
Nikki expressed sympathy since Audra had to lose her dad in such a difficult way. Based on the way Audra spoke about her father’s struggles, it’s clear that she had some affection for him.
Now that Y&R’s giving Audra a little more of a backstory, perhaps this could lead to some new details leaking about her mother, too. Could Audra’s mom be someone fans have met before?
Regardless of whether Audra’s mother is a new character or perhaps a familiar face, it’d be nice to let her come on the scene and shake things up.
That’s especially true if Audra perhaps has a rather rocky relationship with her mom. Audra and her mother might even be estranged, so that could set the stage for plenty of drama.
Maybe Audra blames her mom for driving her dad to drink if she cheated on him constantly or left him for another man.
Audra’s mother could bring a ton of emotional baggage with her to town and force Audra to unpack in through a tense reunion.
It makes sense for the show to make Audra’s mom a real mess, particularly since Audra is someone who likes to carefully control things and stay a step ahead of the game.
Audra would have no control at all if her mother tracked her down and crashed right into her life.
It’s easy to imagine Audra’s mom booking herself a suite just down the hall from Audra and pestering her daughter under the guise of reconnecting.
In reality, Audra’s mom could be after money or have some other ulterior motive. If Audra’s mother becomes a new gold-digger and finds some unsuspecting wealthy man to target in GC, that’d be even better!
The possibilities are endless when it comes to Audra and her messy mother if they bring her to Genoa City, so stay tuned for updates on any major casting news.
