Boosie Badazz is speaking out after years of watching superstar performers dominate the Super Bowl stage — and according to him, one major name has been unfairly left out: Chris Brown.
The Louisiana rapper sparked major debate online after questioning why Chris Brown has still never been chosen to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show despite being widely considered one of the most electrifying performers in music.
Taking to X, Boosie didn’t hold back.
“Do we need to campaign for Chris Brown to perform at a Super Bowl?” he wrote. “So many years I’ve seen so many different artists perform. No CB? Not cool at all — better yet, DISRESPECTFUL.”
The post instantly divided fans across social media.
Supporters flooded the comments arguing that Brown’s live performances, choreography, and catalog make him more than qualified for one of entertainment’s biggest stages. Many pointed to his massively successful “Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour,” with some fans calling him “the best live performer of this generation.”
Others, however, pushed back by bringing up Brown’s controversial past — especially his 2009 assault case involving Rihanna. Some users argued that his history may still be preventing the NFL from offering him the coveted halftime slot.
Several fans also dragged JAY-Z into the discussion, since Roc Nation now helps oversee Super Bowl entertainment decisions for the NFL.
“You gotta be on JAY-Z’s good side,” one viral reply joked.
The conversation surrounding Chris Brown’s absence from the halftime stage has been growing louder in recent months. Earlier this year, Ne-Yo also defended Brown during an interview, saying the singer would “absolutely smash” a Super Bowl performance if given the chance.
“It’s wild people still hold onto mistakes forever,” Ne-Yo said at the time, questioning whether public redemption is ever truly allowed in the entertainment industry.
Even Chris Brown’s longtime manager Anthony “Ant” Wilson hinted that a Super Bowl appearance could still happen one day. Speaking with Billboard previously, Wilson admitted he believes the opportunity will eventually come.
“I think the Super Bowl would be a great place for him,” he said. “I believe it will happen.”
For now, though, fans continue debating whether Chris Brown’s undeniable talent outweighs the controversy that still follows his name nearly two decades later.
