It’s been a little while now since Hunter King said farewell to The Young and the Restless‘ Summer on a fulltime basis. Heck, it’s been a good year and a half since Allison Lanier stepped into the role. And she hasn’t slowed down since then, with a slew of Hallmark movies under her belt from holiday fare to wedding bliss.

But that doesn’t mean life is always easy. In fact, when King took to Instagram to share an update on 2023, it sounds like she’s had some challenges this past year.

“A couple of days late but wanted to thank 2023 for all the lessons it taught me,” she wrote, along with a series of photos from the year that you can scroll through below. “One of those was reminding me to always keep going even when it feels like you can’t, because truthfully you never know what life has waiting around the corner. These are a few of those ‘around the corner’ moments 2023 brought me.”

One thing that is clear is that for all of the ups and downs King may have faced, 2023 was full of adventure, family, love and dogs! Heck, there was even a cow and we were not expecting that to be one of the most adorable photos we’ve seen in ages! When it comes right down to it, it doesn’t get much better than that.

And yes, King is still clearly close to her onetime reel-life mom, as Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) wrote simply to her former TV daughter, “I love you!!”

We don’t know what 2024 is holding for any of us, but we’re sure it’s got great things in store for King. And if we can get any “around the corner” moments in the coming year that look half as fun as her 2023 adventures, then we’d say we’re all in store for a pretty darn good year. And even when it doesn’t seem that way, it’s always important, as King said, to a”lways keep going.”
