We are still ways away from the season opener in Bahrain or even the pre-season testing. We as fans are hating this break in Formula 1 racing but the drivers are making the most of it. Before they head back to the grueling and disciplined world of F1, the drivers are taking a much-needed break with friends and/or family. We have easily been able to keep up with the winter activities of almost all the drivers except Max Verstappen. However, thanks to his girlfriend Kelly Piquet, we now have an update on the whereabouts of the 26-year-old.
As it turns out, Verstappen was hiding away from the world nestled in the snow-capped mountains of Gstaad in Switzerland, one of the favorite skiing spots for the world, with his girlfriend and favorite child Penelope. Thanks to Piquet’s recent Instagram activity, we can tell where the three, accompanied by some friends, have been since Christmas.
Piquet posted a carousel from their skiing trip recently which not only showcased the fun times they had but also gave us a glimpse of the relationship the Dutchman shares with her daughter. In the 7th photo in the dump which she captioned as “Mountain moments 🌨️❄️☃️⛷️❤️” we can see Verstappen and Penelope staring away blissfully into the distance from their room’s balcony surrounded by mountains.
The adorable picture of the two tells us how this relationship between the two keeps blossoming, which was bound to happen given the amount of time the three spend with each other. In fact, ever since Verstappen started dating the Brazilian model, he has started making extra efforts to spend time with her and her family and he spilled the beans on that in a recent Q&A.

Before jetting off for the holidays, the Red Bull marketing department sat the Dutchman down to answer some holiday-based questions. In this Q&A there were some personal questions that the Dutchman answered, like what his favorite holiday activity, favorite holiday destination, and even things like how he likes to spend the holidays. While answering the last question, Verstappen gave us an insight into Piquet’s influence in his life.

Verstappen replied, “Lately, it’s Brazil (Piquet’s home) or just at home in Monaco. But you know there it’s warm, right? So it’s a bit of a different Christmas. A few drinks and yeah, I don’t know, jump in the pool.”
Now we all know there is only one reason for Verstappen to go to Brazil other than to race. However, it seems the couple chose the snow this year for post-Christmas celebrations instead of a dip in the pool.
