Gen V Enthusiasts Yearn for a Spin-Off Focusing on the Captivating Origin of Soldier Boy.

The Boys star Jensen Ackles made some waves with fans with his unforgettable cameo in the newest episode of Gen V.

Soldier Boy’s cameo in Gen V was not exactly what fans were expecting, but for many, it nevertheless stole the show.

Portrayed by Supernatural star Jensen Ackles, Soldier Boy previously made his debut in the franchise in the third season of The Boys. It was known that he would appear in some capacity in Gen V, and the cameo came in the sixth episode of Season 1, titled “Jumanji.” As it turns out, Ackles was not technically playing Soldier Boy for the scene, but rather an imaginary version of the character who existed solely in Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) mind. While he retained his unique personality, the imaginary Soldier Boy spoke somewhat out of character while delivering highly-quotable lines like, “Knock, knock. Who’s there? Go f*** your face.”

.

“Soldier Boy’s humor is so twisted and crass, but Jensen Ackles just owns it! His dirty mind is a riot,” says one fan reaction to the cameo. “I’m convinced [Eric] Kripke just told him to go wild, and he did not disappoint. We need a Soldier Boy spin-off ASAP! I want to see him go off the rails and just shred people’s 𝑠e𝑥 lives to pieces.” Someone else said, “Yes. Jensen stole the scene. He is that mesmerizing. My abs are still hurting from laughing like a goddamn moron and my mind has not recovered from the words that left soldier boy’s mouth. At least, it was romantic.”

“This was so good. I was expecting something different out of soldier boy appearence but this was so F***ING BETTER,” another fan wrote on X. Feeling that the scene just made Cate more relatable, another fan noted, “How appropriate that [Jensen Ackles] played [Soldier Boy] being an ‘imaginary friend’… Jensen has certainly been mine since at least 2005.”

There’s More to Come From Gen V

It remains to be seen if a Soldier Boy series happens, but the cameo comes off the heels of Gen V scoring its official renewal for Season 2. That’s on top of the high acclaim that the show has also drawn, resulting in a near-perfect score of 97% at Rotten Tomatoes. There are just two episodes left to go for the season, but as work had already begun on crafting Season 2, the wait for more shouldn’t be too long. Meanwhile, the fourth season of The Boys is also on the way.
