Paris St Germain Club closed 2023 with a 3-1 home win against Metz in the early morning of December 21 (Vietnam time). They entered the winter break with 45 points after 17 matches in Ligue 1, certainly holding the top spot in the table with 5 points more than the team behind Nice.
In the victory at Parc des Princes, star Kylian Mbappe made his mark with a double goal. The number 1 striker of the French team at this time celebrating his 25th birthday couldn’t be more wonderful, with a total of 18 goals up to this point in Ligue 1.
However, the Mbappe family’s joy did not stop there. After the home team led the opponent 3-1, in the 90+1 minute, coach Luis Enrique replaced 3 players at once. One of the three people on the field is Ethan Mbappe – Kylian’s younger brother.
Even though it was only a short time in their Ligue 1 debut, the match ending with the two Mbappe brothers on the field certainly multiplied the family’s joy many times over.
Ethan was named on the reserve list in the match against Nice in mid-September but did not play.
Ethan was born on December 29, 2006, the youngest of the three Mbappe brothers. Kylian and Ethan also have an adopted brother, Jires Kembo Ekoko, 35 years old, who also pursues a professional football career.
Ethan followed in the footsteps of both his brothers by joining local side AS Bondy in 2015. After two years, Ethan joined PSG, during the same transfer window in which the club signed Kylian on loan . Ethan scored in his debut for the U12 team.
Ethan Mbappe signed a new 3-year contract with PSG in June 2021. On December 16, 2022, at the age of 15, he made his debut for the first team in a 2-1 friendly win against Paris FC.
Before the 2023-2024 season, Ethan was called up to participate in the pre-season tour in Asia and made his first start for PSG in a 3-0 friendly win against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on August 3.
