Life has been rough for Victor on The Young and the Restless as he’s fought Jordan, struggled to hold his family together and is now trying to get Nikki help for her latest battle with addiction. It takes someone strong and relentless to make it through times like this, but that’s exactly the type of person Victor Newman is. And it’s also the type of person Eric Braeden is
The actor’s been open and honest about his battle with bladder cancer, from diagnosis to treatment. And this past August, he shared the exciting news that he was finally cancer free. But cancer’s a tricky beast that can take a toll on the strongest of people, between the disease itself and the treatment. And then there’s always the fear that it might find a way to sneak back in.
But Braeden is, as we noted, just as much of a fighter as Victor and he took to Instagram to share some good news in a way that left no doubt about how he’s feeling as he danced, danced, danced to Everything But the Girl’s ’90s hit “Missing!”
“Feeling better and better,” the Emmy winning actor wrote. “F you, cancer!”
We’re not going to lie, if we were cancer, we’d be running as far from Braeden as we could. And with this latest update, it sounds like it already has! He not only kicked it’s butt, it’s stayed away and the actor’s back to fighting — and dancing — form. Of course, none of this is a huge surprise, even the dancing.
It wasn’t that long ago that Braeden broke it down on-set with his TV daughter Amelia Heinle (Victoria) to celebrate making it through the reams and reams of dialogue. And it wasn’t just the actors who couldn’t stop smiling through the dancing, but all of us who watched it too!
And if completing a successful day at work deserves that kind of celebration, then feeling good and cancer-free definitely does as well. Heck, we might even join in! Now excuse us while we move to the groove and join Braeden in reveling in the happy news!
