Mbappe offered an €80 million two-year deal by PSG, could accept if Real Madrid do not meet demands

Kylian Mbappe is one of Real Madrid’s three non-negotiable targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. The 25-year-old has come close to signing for the club many times in the past, but this is said to be his final chance of securing the dream move.

Now in the final six months of his contract, the player is free to negotiate his future with clubs across the globe.

Real Madrid hope to sign him on a free transfer in the summer, although they will shell out €60 million as a signing-on bonus to the player.

The new twist

While no new twists were expected in the saga this summer, AS brings an update that can only be described as a major twist.

According to the Spanish outlet, PSG have understandably not given up hope of keeping their main star. They have made an offer to extend Mbappe’s contract for two seasons at a whopping salary of €80 million per year.

The report adds that the Frenchman’s idea is still to move to Spain. However, he wants to be the highest-paid player in the squad and will not settle for less.

If Real Madrid’s offer is not equal to or greater than what Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr currently earn, he could stay in Paris. Needless to say, this changes the complexion of the player’s situation.

Real Madrid’s offer

As revealed in a recent report, Los Blancos are not willing to offer Mbappe the astronomical wages that PSG offer him. They propose a base salary of €15 million, although that number will increase with bonuses and image rights.

It is clear that the winger must make an economic compromise to realise his dream of moving to Madrid. The clause of his wages being higher than Bellingham and Vinicius, however, could create a ruckus in what appeared to be a straightforward free transfer.
