Danny’s Struggle: The Weight of Anger and Loss
Danny (played by Asher Antonyzyn) is in a dangerous place. His mother’s death and the imprisonment of his father have left him reeling. Feeling helpless and desperate for answers, he’s turning to the one thing he feels he can control: revenge. But the consequences of his actions could be far-reaching — especially for someone so young and full of rage.
As Antonyzyn discussed in his podcast with Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Danny’s struggle is deeper than just missing his father. “Danny still doesn’t know that it was Rocco who shot Cullum. He’s still thinking, ‘Why would my dad do this?’” This conflict with Rocco (Finn Carr) — someone he’s considered a brother — could be a massive turning point, but it could also push Danny toward decisions that could haunt him forever.
A Dangerous Path: Is Revenge on Sidwell the Answer?
Danny’s anger becomes more focused when he overhears Rick and Sonny talking about Sidwell, placing the blame for Jason’s disappearance squarely on him. For Danny, this revelation presents a target — someone to focus his rage on. “Danny went to Sonny and Rick not knowing where to start. He was just so angry,” Antonyzyn reveals. “Now that he’s heard Sidwell’s name, it gives him a target to try and do something to get his dad back.”
Danny is so lost in his pain and confusion that he might make a rash decision. If he targets Sidwell, could his anger lead to violence? “I think hearing ‘Sidwell’ could lead to him making some choices with that name,” Antonyzyn teases.
Will Danny Cross the Line?
While the adults in Port Charles have been embroiled in their own drama, Danny’s next moves could be far more dangerous. With a teen’s tendency to act without fully considering consequences, Danny might go too far — and not just by threatening Sidwell, but by actually carrying out violence. If Danny decides to take the law into his own hands, could it lead to something far more lethal?
Rocco isn’t the only teen who’s made violent choices, and Danny’s frustration with the injustice of his father’s situation might lead him to make a fatal error. His rage could propel him to a place where murder becomes the only way to feel in control. And while few would mourn Sidwell in Port Charles, Danny would have to live with the fact that he made a choice that could forever alter his future.
A Legacy of Violence
Even if Danny does go through with it, and Sidwell pays the price, he’ll eventually learn the truth: Sidwell didn’t send Jason to that WSB prison, and the real culprits will remain a mystery. Danny will have to live with the fact that he killed someone for a crime that wasn’t even committed by his target.
Could this be Danny’s breaking point? A path that leads him to become someone he never wanted to be — just like his father?
The Coming Storm
The next few episodes promise to be intense as Danny wrestles with his emotions and his choices. Will he let his father’s violent legacy define him, or will he find a new way to handle his pain? The fallout from his actions will undoubtedly change Port Charles forever.
