On the other hand, Max Verstappen has broken another record yet again, by finishing first at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, boosting his win rate to the current record of 29.94%. With the trajectory that the Dutch world champion is on, it looks like he might surpass many of the OG’s in Formula One, ushering in a new era of Formula One racing. The new era comes with new records, and Max Verstappen has been leading that field too.

What other records does Max Verstappen hold?

Ever since his debut at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, he broke his first record by just getting into the car at the age of 17 years and 166 days. Two weeks later, at the Malaysian Grand Prix, the defending champion came in 7th and broke the record of the youngest driver to score points in a race. Shortly after that, in 2016, during the Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen replaced Danill Kvyat in Red Bull making him the youngest team leader. Surely you can see the pattern here.

The Dutchman also became the youngest F1 podium and race winner at the age of 18 years and 228 days old after replacing Kvyat. Another “youngest” for Verstappen would be the fastest race lap, and this was achieved at the age of 19. His other records include the most overtakes in a season to the youngest driver with a grand slam. He also was the first Dutchman with a pole position, bringing one home for the country. However, it was in 2021 that Verstappen truly made history, becoming the youngest driver to achieve a grand slam during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend at just 23 years and 277 days old. The following season, in 2023, he dominated the F1 circuit, securing the most podiums, wins, and points in a single season, with an impressive 21 podium finishes out of 22 races, 19 victories, and 575 points to his name.

Verstappen’s reign extended further with an unmatched streak of 10 consecutive wins and the honor of being the first Dutch F1 world champion in 2021. Not only did he excel on the track, but Verstappen also set a record off it, obtaining the most expensive super license ever recorded in 2024, valued at €1,200,000. His dominance continued with a remarkable streak of 13 wins in a row from pole position, highlighting his unparalleled skill in converting poles to victories. Furthermore, Verstappen achieved a remarkable feat by scoring points in Formula 1 consecutively for 1030 races, solidifying his status as one of the greatest drivers in the sport’s history.
