Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested on Monday (April 6) in connection with a shooting incident involving fellow rap star Offset at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood casino in Florida. The altercation reportedly escalated inside the casino, leading to a disturbance outside where Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was detained by authorities. He has been charged with disorderly conduct—affray, a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida law.

Despite early reports that suggested Lil Tjay might have been directly involved in the shooting, authorities have not charged him with any weapons-related offenses. According to a statement from the Seminole Police Department, Lil Tjay was booked into Broward County Jail late on Monday. A second individual was detained at the scene but has not been charged, and the investigation is still ongoing as law enforcement works to identify any other individuals involved in the incident.

Records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office show that Lil Tjay is currently being held on a $500 bond for the disorderly conduct charge. Additionally, he faces a $2,500 bond for a separate traffic violation. This incident appears to be connected to prior tension between Lil Tjay and Offset, which may have been fueled by an alleged gambling debt, though no official charges related to the shooting have been filed against Lil Tjay.

Conflicting early reports led to confusion, with some claiming that Lil Tjay had both shot Offset and been shot himself. However, Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M. Florio, denied these rumors, emphasizing that the rapper was not involved in the shooting and had not been shot himself. In a statement, Florio urged the public to verify news from trusted sources, calling the misinformation “false.”
