The event, hosted by Shane Gillis, featured a star-studded lineup of comedians and celebrities, including Pete Davidson, Chelsea Handler, Usher, Regina Hall, Tom Brady, Lizzo, and The Rock.
But the real highlight came when Katt Williams, known for his notorious past beef with Hart, took the stage to roast him. The appearance was a bit unexpected, given the tension between the two over the years. However, rather than escalate the animosity, Williams used the roast to mend fences, joking about Hart’s level of star power and even referencing former mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“I’m surprised they invited me,” Williams joked. “That’s how little star power you have, they had to start inviting your enemies.” He also poked fun at Hart’s association with Diddy, joking, “Just because Kevin went to Diddy parties does not mean he did something wrong. The fact he gets all quiet when you bring it up, that means he did something wrong!”
In response, Hart, known for his quick wit and charm, took the opportunity to extend an olive branch. “I am offering you an olive branch of peace,” Hart said, looking directly at Williams. “I want to be a brother, I want to be a friend. Katt, I want to move on. Can we move on, man?” The moment ended with the two shaking hands and embracing, signaling the end of their years-long feud.
Despite the heartfelt exchange, Hart couldn’t resist slipping back into comedic mode. “Everybody has said tonight that I can’t act,” Hart joked. “What I want you to do is go back and look at that moment where I shook Katt’s hand and I looked him in the eye, and I said, ‘I just want us to be friends.’ Some of the best f–king acting that I’ve ever did in my career.”
And then, in true Hart fashion, he added with a grin, “I did not mean one word of what I said. F–k Katt Williams! F–k Katt Williams!”
