Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently serving his prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix, has turned his incarceration into an opportunity to give back to his fellow inmates. According to TMZ, the Grammy-winning mogul, alongside other inmates, took it upon themselves to organize a Thanksgiving dinner for 1,000 prisoners at the facility. Despite the challenges that come with prison life, Diddy and his fellow inmates were able to provide a full holiday meal, including turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, and dessert, for the residents of FCI Fort Dix.
Diddy, who remains incarcerated until June 2028, worked with a group of inmates known as Bankroll Bosses to make the event possible. They sourced food from the prison’s commissary and spent two days preparing the meals, despite the lack of adequate kitchen facilities such as stoves, microwaves, and cutting utensils. The meals were delivered to every housing unit in the prison, with each building receiving enough food for approximately 200 inmates.
A former gang leader, referred to as B.I., assisted Diddy in coordinating the holiday event. B.I. shared that the group worked tirelessly to cook and distribute the meals, saying, “We cooked the food and sent it to all the buildings. Enough for about 200 people each building. It took two days to prep everything.”
In his statement to TMZ, Diddy shared his thoughts on why the initiative was so meaningful to him. “Thanksgiving, to me, is about making sure other people eat,” he said. “Everybody misses their family. People get depressed during the holidays. We just wanted to come together as a family and do our own thing.” His words highlighted the importance of unity and support, especially during a time when many inmates are feeling isolated and alone.
This is not the first time Diddy has used his platform to help others, even from behind bars. In previous statements, he has emphasized the sense of brotherhood and camaraderie that exists in prison. “There’s a lot of misinterpretations about prison,” Diddy said. “There is a strong brotherhood. We all look out for each other. It’s nothing but a positive thing… It’s like a little bit of home in a dark place.”
Diddy’s time at FCI Fort Dix, which follows his sentence extension due to rule violations, continues until his projected release date in 2028. However, Diddy remains hopeful that participation in various prison programs, including drug treatment, could lead to a potential reduction in his sentence.
