Sunny Hostin Makes Brutal Jab At Republicans On ‘The View’: “When Republicans Can’t Win, They Cheat”
Sunny Hostin‘s disdain for the Republican Party was on full display during this morning’s episode of The View.
The first Hot Topics segment of the day honed in on Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and her recent bid for Senate. Crockett announced her campaign in a head-turning social media ad that played President Donald Trump‘s many insults toward her, including his claim that she’s a “low IQ person.”
While Alyssa Farah Griffin felt that Crockett should’ve focused more on political issues and less on taking down Trump in her ad, Hostin had a different approach.
“I loved it. I thought it was terrific,” Hostin said. “I think we need that kind of energy. I think we need an opposition party. I don’t think we need business as usual.”
Hostin noted that Crockett has a strong chance at winning the election, which would help her party’s efforts in flipping the Senate back to Democratic control. According to Hostin, no one ever thought a “Black senator and a Jewish senator would be the senators representing Georgia, but they are.”
“There have only been 14 Black senators in the history of this country [and] only two Black governors in the history of this country,” she continued. “I think she could be the 15th Black senator in the history of this country.”
Hostin also slammed Republicans in Texas for “gerrymandering” Crockett’s district.
“Her district is now going to be a Republican district. She represents 766,000 in that district,” Hostin fumed. “That district is being taken away from her because when the Republicans can’t win, they cheat. That is the truth.”
“As a senator in Texas, she will not only be representing 766,000 voices [in her district], she will be representing 30 million voices,” Hostin added. “And I say run, Jasmine, run.”
