Nicolas Jackson has enjoyed a small bit of success leading the line for Chelsea this season, but we’d guess most supporters around Stamford Bridge are still desperate for the club to sign a new star striker.
It’s fallen on special playmaker Cole Palmer to be the biggest provider of goals for the Blues this year. It would be great to see a 20-goal centre-forward in Chelsea colours again, though.
The Sun reported last month that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly really wants the club to sign a prolific striker in the summer.
Interestingly, there’s a fresh report out this week that suggests an attacking Chelsea target may be available to sign.

Chelsea linked with ‘very fast’ striker
Benjamin Sesko, who plays in Germany with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, is the frontman attracting interest for this summer.
90min claims that Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all hold an interest in Leipzig’s Sesko. In fact, the Premier League is deemed his most likely next destination.
It is understood that Leipzig are open to selling the 20-year-old striker for a deal that might not require triggering his €50 million (£42m) release clause.
The report says that Sesko is open to a new challenge and his club are willing to facilitate his exit if the structure of any transfer deal reaches the ballpark figure of the release clause.
In addition, Chelsea rate Leipzig’s centre-forward and view him as a cheaper alternative to Napoli’s £103m-rated Victor Osimhen.
Described as “very fast” by agent Elvis Basanovic in 2021 (AS), Sesko looks such an attractive option for Premier League sides.
Benjamin Sesko mature beyond his years
We’d prefer Chelsea to sign players this summer with good top-level experience to improve the young squad. In fairness, Leipzig’s Sesko is a strong and quick forward who’s mature beyond his years.
The Slovenia international has played well over 150 games in senior football for both club and country.
We’ve posted below his eye-catching senior record:
