Bob Myers will return to his advisory role at Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment following his interim leadership of the Philadelphia 76ers’ basketball operations. Myers, who was temporarily tasked with overseeing the 76ers’ operations, is currently leading the search for a new president of basketball operations to succeed Daryl Morey.
Myers is expected to interview both internal and external candidates for the role, but it remains too early in the process to identify a clear favorite for the position. His extensive experience in basketball operations and leadership is expected to play a key role in finding the right individual to guide the Sixers moving forward.
According to Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider, current NBA Players Association executive director Andre Iguodala will not be a candidate for the Sixers’ position, dismissing earlier speculation about the former player’s potential involvement.
Once a successor is appointed, Myers will shift back into his advisory position with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, with the primary responsibility of overseeing the 76ers’ long-term strategic direction while allowing the new hire to focus on day-to-day operations.
