His latest appearance comes after Formula One announced a deal to continue racing in Abu Dhabi through to 2030.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held at the Yas Marina Circuit and was added to the F1 calendar in 2009.

‘We are delighted to confirm that we will be racing in Abu Dhabi until 2030 under this new agreement’, F1 chief executive and president Stefano Domenicali said on Thursday.

‘We are hugely looking forward to the season finale this weekend when more Formula One history will be made.’

In Novembery, Lewis bit back at his critics and said accusing Mercedes of trying to cheat their way to his eighth world title is the ‘worst claim to ever make’.

‘We all have egos and that’s what controls our emotions, and it is egos fighting each other,’ Hamilton told The Times.

‘There is defence, there is respect, but I did see someone say something about cheating, and that’s the worst claim to ever make.’

He added: ‘I called James Allison and Mike Elliott and said, “I really want to know about these things,” and they took me through details of where we are.

‘We have done all these tests and this is where it is, but I don’t like it when people put that [cheating accusations] out there.’
