D4vd case: Preliminary hearing pushed to June as singer remains behind bars for killing of Celeste Rivas Hernandez - ABC7 Los AngelesD4vd’s family is publicly backing the singer after prosecutors detailed allegations surrounding the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced Monday that D4vd faces first-degree murder with special circumstances, which could carry life without parole or the death penalty. Additional charges include lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutilation of a body.

“We are disappointed but not surprised that the District Attorney made this decision. David’s family stands behind him 100 percent,” attorney Kent Schaffer said in a statement, emphasizing the family’s unwavering support.

According to prosecutors, Celeste was allegedly killed on April 23, 2025, at D4vd’s Hollywood Hills residence after visiting him by invitation. Charging documents claim he used a sharp instrument and later mutilated her body on May 5. Her remains were reportedly found in a Hollywood tow yard in September 2025, stored in two cadaver bags inside D4vd’s Tesla for four months. Decomposition initially made it difficult for the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death, though authorities now point to the sharp instrument as the weapon.
