His attorney, Albert J. Sauline III, has filed a motion requesting modifications to the no contact order in place.
The current order prevents Joseph from visiting multiple properties he owns because they are near the residence of the alleged victim. The motion argues that this restriction has become unnecessary, as the alleged victim and her family no longer live at the previously listed address. Joseph hopes the court will allow him access to his properties to perform essential upkeep, including mowing, landscaping, painting, and removing an old shed.
This filing marks the second motion this week aimed at changing conditions of Joseph’s release. Earlier, he requested an exemption from the order prohibiting unsupervised contact with minors, specifically to allow him contact with his own children. The ongoing restrictions have effectively separated him from his family since his arrest, creating a hardship for the household.
Joseph’s legal troubles began with charges in Florida for two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, and he remains out on a $600,000 bond. Meanwhile, he and his wife Kendra Duggar are also facing charges in Arkansas, including four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment. Kendra has reunited with their children, but Joseph continues to be unable to see or communicate with them under the court order.
According to the motion, Joseph’s inability to access his properties prevents him from completing necessary repairs and maintenance.
