Stefon Diggs walked free Tuesday after a Massachusetts jury cleared him of all felony assault and strangulation charges filed by his former personal chef, Jamila “Mila” Adams. The verdict came following a two-day trial at Norfolk County District Court in Dedham, with jurors delivering a not guilty decision in less than two hours of deliberation.
The case centered on allegations stemming from a December 2025 dispute over payment. Adams claimed Diggs entered her bedroom, struck her with an open hand, and choked her during the altercation. The defense argued there were no witnesses to corroborate the claims and emphasized the lack of medical records supporting the alleged incident. Video evidence also showed Adams appearing upbeat and traveling to New York shortly after the supposed confrontation.
Following the verdict, a representative for Diggs stated plainly: “No assault ever occurred.” Judge Jeanmarie Carroll commended the jury for their diligence and integrity in reaching a verdict.
The legal proceedings began after Adams filed a police report on Dec. 16, initially declining to press charges, but formally moving forward by Dec. 29. Diggs, who had pleaded not guilty in February, was released by the New England Patriots in March during the case and has not yet signed with another team.
