Chris Brown publicly expressed frustration after reports connected his name to a shooting-related incident that occurred outside his Tarzana home in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, despite authorities confirming he was not involved.
According to police reports, officers responded to the neighborhood around 4 p.m. on May 1 after a woman claimed a man fired at her vehicle during a street dispute. Investigators say the confrontation allegedly escalated after the woman accidentally ran over the suspect’s foot.
Authorities stated the suspect, described as a man in his mid-30s, allegedly used a CO2-powered air gun similar to a BB or pellet gun during the incident. Officers later arrested the individual on charges related to assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
Law enforcement sources indicated Chris Brown was not connected to the altercation in any way.
Following widespread online discussion linking the incident to his property, Brown addressed the situation directly on Instagram Stories, criticizing what he described as a repeated pattern of media attention surrounding incidents near his home.
The singer stated he had been inside his residence the entire time and claimed he was unaware anything had even happened outside until seeing news coverage later.
The incident arrives during a busy period for Brown professionally, as he prepares to release his upcoming album and launch a major co-headlining tour with Usher.
At the same time, Brown is also preparing for a separate legal battle unrelated to Friday’s incident. His former housekeeper, Maria Avila, filed a lawsuit connected to a 2020 dog attack involving one of Brown’s security dogs at his home.
Court proceedings tied to that case are expected to begin later this year, with ongoing legal arguments surrounding what evidence may be presented during trial.
Despite renewed headlines surrounding the Tarzana property, authorities have not linked Brown to Friday’s incident, and the investigation remains focused on the individual arrested at the scene.
