Nelly Walks Free From Casino Assault Charge After Plea Deal - AllHipHopNelly has officially closed the chapter on his long-running legal situation tied to a casino incident in Missouri after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.

According to court records and reports from U.S. media outlets, the rapper appeared in court on April 29, 2026, where prosecutors agreed to dismiss the misdemeanor assault charge connected to the incident at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles. Instead, Nelly accepted responsibility for a minor littering violation and paid a $750 fine to resolve the matter.

The case dates back to July 2025, when a confrontation reportedly took place between Nelly and a casino security guard. According to initial reports filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the guard claimed the rapper pushed him during a dispute over access to a restricted section of the casino.

However, representatives for Nelly strongly denied the allegation from the beginning. His legal team argued that the security guard approached him aggressively, blocked his path, and invaded his personal space. They maintained that Nelly only moved the guard aside with minimal contact and that no injuries were caused.

Reports also stated that casino surveillance cameras captured the interaction. Following an internal review, casino management allegedly apologized to Nelly over the incident and continued to welcome him back to the property.

Although prosecutors formally filed the misdemeanor assault charge in September 2025, the plea agreement ultimately allowed both sides to avoid a lengthy trial. With the assault charge now dismissed, Nelly moves forward without the allegation remaining on his criminal record.
