According to court proceedings, 19-year-old Jabyrion Crumbley will remain in custody while facing multiple charges, including murder and related felony offenses connected to the death of Remoin Patton Sr., also known to family and friends as “Uncle Moonie.”

Authorities say the fatal shooting happened on June 16, 2025, along Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard in Atlanta.

During the argument, prosecutors claim Crumbley pulled out a firearm and shot Patton, striking him in the back.

Police said Patton’s vehicle then crashed into a nearby vacant home. Reports from the scene stated the impact caused visible damage to the property.

During the recent hearing, Crumbley’s legal team reportedly argued that the shooting was an act of self-defense. However, the judge ultimately denied bond, meaning the 19-year-old will remain jailed as the case moves through the Fulton County court system.

Crumbley later turned himself in to authorities on July 2, 2025, and has reportedly remained behind bars since his arrest.

The case has also expanded beyond the homicide charges. Crumbley’s mother, Janisha Crumbley, appeared in court as well, facing accusations tied to allegedly tampering with an electronic monitoring device and hindering the apprehension of a felon.

Officials have not publicly clarified the exact relationship between the two defendants in connection to the ongoing investigation.
