General Hospital fans are growing increasingly concerned about Britt Westbourne’s future after the latest storyline hinted that she may be preparing to leave Port Charles for good.
As tensions rise around Jason, Rocco, and Cullum’s dangerous investigation, Britt finds herself emotionally overwhelmed and running out of options. Now, actress Kelly Thiebaud is opening up about Britt’s mindset — and why her character feels disappearing may be the only way to protect the people she cares about.
Britt Feels Completely Trapped
With Jason currently in WSB custody after shooting Cullum, the pressure surrounding the situation continues to intensify.
At the center of the chaos is Rocco, whose involvement remains a dangerous secret Britt desperately wants to protect.
According to Thiebaud, Britt feels isolated as everything around her begins collapsing.
“It just feels to her like everything is closing in on her,” the actress explained, noting that Britt fears Cullum is getting dangerously close to uncovering the truth about Rocco.
If anything were to happen to him, Britt believes she would never forgive herself.
Britt Feels Alone in Port Charles
Adding to Britt’s emotional struggle is the growing blame from those around her — especially Dante, who recently made it clear he holds her responsible for the situation involving his son.
“People don’t really give Britt the benefit of the doubt,” Thiebaud shared. “She deals with a lot of hate.”
Still, the actress insists Britt’s concern for Rocco is genuine and comes from a real desire to protect him from further harm.
“She wants to do whatever she can to protect him and get him out of this situation.”
A Dangerous Decision Could Change Everything
What makes Britt’s possible exit even more heartbreaking is the personal cost attached to it.
By leaving town, Britt could potentially throw Cullum off track and stop Sidwell’s larger plan from moving forward. However, doing so would also mean walking away from the medication helping control her Huntington’s disease.
And according to Thiebaud, Britt may have reached the point where she no longer sees another path forward.
“She’s feeling really helpless and really alone,” the actress explained.
Rather than giving up entirely, Britt appears to believe that removing herself from the situation may be the best way to protect everyone else.
Trouble May Follow Britt Before She Escapes
Of course, leaving Port Charles is rarely simple.
Thiebaud hinted that unexpected complications are still ahead as Britt attempts to make her escape.
“She can’t catch a break,” the actress teased.
At the same time, Thiebaud admitted she hopes Britt’s future eventually includes something lighter after so much emotional turmoil.
“I’d like to see her have a little bit of ease and fun — and maybe even some love soon.”
For now, though, fans are left wondering whether Britt’s emotional goodbye could become permanent.
