Monaleo Defends Her AMAs Grillz: Beyoncé-Approved Style Steals the Spotlight

Houston rapper is making headlines again — not for a song, but for her iconic grillz. During the 2026 American Music Awards on May 25, Monaleo turned heads by pairing her signature grill with a glamorous gown, prompting fans online to comment on her bold style choice.
A viral tweet read, “Love how everywhere Monaleo goes, she has her grillz in,” sparking a response from the rising star. Monaleo quote-tweeted, “Beyoncé said she loves when I pair my grill with a gown! The grill stays!!!!!!!!!!” proving that sometimes the ultimate fashion endorsement comes from Queen Bey herself.
When a fan joked in the replies, “Wouldn’t be able to tell me s**t if Beyoncé said [that] to me,” Monaleo shot back, “The only opinion that matters, [for real],” showing her confidence and loyalty to her Houston roots.

This isn’t the first time Monaleo’s grillz have garnered attention alongside Beyoncé. Last month at the CÉCRED Styling Collection event, the two linked up, with Monaleo posting a photo throwing up Houston hand signs alongside the superstar. In that moment too, Monaleo wore her grill with elegance, captioning the post “Pimpcess X Queen Bey,” while CÉCRED’s social channels highlighted it as a “CÉCRED moment.”
Beyond fashion, Monaleo is bouncing back from health challenges. Earlier in the year, she had to cancel part of her “Who Did The Body Tour” due to emergency surgery that resulted in the removal of an ovary and fallopian tube. “Recovery was rough, but it went well!” she shared in April. “I learned a lot in this process, but most importantly, how to advocate for my well-being. Something I want to continue to remind y’all to do, as it could be the thing that saves your life.”
Now fully recovered, Monaleo is hitting the road again, slated to support Summer Walker’s “Finally Over It Tour” throughout June. Fans can expect the same fearless style, confidence, and signature grillz that have become her signature statement — now with Beyoncé’s seal of approval.
