During a candid chat on the podcast Tagging In with Chris Harris, Anderson shared his perspective on the events leading to his release, which he believes stemmed from a controversial incident with Orton.
Anderson recalls that the fallout began after he performed a back suplex on Orton during a match on May 25, 2009, on WWE RAW. Orton reportedly labeled the move as dangerous, leading to a series of events that would ultimately cost Anderson his job. “I got fired for dumping Randy on his head,” he stated, defending his actions by pointing out that, upon closer inspection, Orton’s neck never actually hit the mat. “If you slow that video down, you can see that his neck is fine. He bumped in a way that lined up perfectly with the camera,” Anderson explained.
The former wrestler went on to allege that Orton and Cena had conspired against him that day, saying, “I believe that Randy and John worked together. They decided that day, let’s f**king get him gone. And it worked.” This claim adds a dramatic twist to an already tumultuous chapter in Anderson’s career.
Despite his belief that Orton’s comments played a significant role in his release, Anderson also took responsibility for his exit.
