ALABAMA EXECUTES WOMAN CONVICTED OF KILLING POLICE OFFICER
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Linda Lyon Block, 54, was executed by electric chair at Holman Correctional Facility on May 10, 2002, for the 1993 murder of a police officer in Alabama. Block became the first woman executed in the state since 1957.
Block and her partner were involved in a confrontation with law enforcement in which an officer was killed. She was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death.
