Warriors Announce Massive Stephen Curry Injury Update

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry underwent an MRI to determine the extent of his right knee injury. The MRI did not reveal any structural damage.

Curry sustained the injury against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 12 when he fell on his right knee. He will not play versus the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 16 and will be re-evaluated at some point later this week.

Curry is averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists on the season for the Warriors while shooting 48.8% from the floor, 44.6% from beyond the arc and 93.0% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors are 6-6 on the season. They have lost four games in a row.

“There’s always been a certain approach to guarding us,” Curry said. “For years, you know where attention is going to be. Usually try to blitz me in a pick-and-roll, stay body-tight on Klay … whatever the case is we have to make adjustments. We can’t just keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. It’s not a panic or anything. It’s just a matter of getting a little smarter and a little bit more organized.”

Curry has outscored every teammate on the Warriors by at least five points in the 11 games he’s appeared in this season, the longest streak to begin a season since Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan in 1987-88 (11).

“Everything is on the table for us for adjustments,” Curry added. “When you’ve lost three straight, you have to make adjustments. I don’t know if it’s a rotation thing or whatever the case is, but everything is on the table and everyone has to be ready to step in.”

The Warriors will be without Curry and Draymond Green in the Thunder game. Green will get suspended after putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock.
