In a haunting tale of betrayal and tragedy, Robert Allen Fratta, a former public safety officer, was executed for orchestrating the murder of his estranged wife, Farah Fratta. This 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 case, rooted in a bitter custody battle, has captivated audiences for nearly three decades, culminating in a lethal injection on January 10, 2023.   Farah Fratta, just 33 years old, was embroiled in a contentious divorce when her life was tragically cut short. On the evening of November 9, 1994, she returned home after a routine hair appointment, blissfully unaware of the deadly plot that awaited her. As she stepped out of her car in the driveway of their Atascocita, Texas home, a gunman lay in wait. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots followed by screams, and by the time help arrived, Farah was found lifeless beside her vehicle, having been shot twice in the head.   The man behind this heinous act was her estranged husband, Robert Fratta, who had reportedly expressed a desire to see Farah dead during their tumultuous divorce proceedings. The couple's bitter custody battle over their three children had escalated tensions, leading Fratta to seek out a hitman. He allegedly enlisted the help of his neighbor, Joseph Pricedash, who then recruited an 18-year-old named Howard Guidry to carry out the murder.   The investigation initially stalled, leaving Farah's family to grapple with their loss while raising her three children. However, a break in the case came when Guidry was arrested for an unrelated crime, leading authorities to connect him to Farah's murder. Both Guidry and Pricedash eventually confessed, implicating Fratta as the mastermind behind the plot.   Fratta's first trial in 1996 ended with a conviction and a death sentence, but it was later overturned due to a violation of his rights. The judge noted Fratta's disturbing demeanor and intentions, describing him as egotistical and callous. He was retried in 2009, where a second jury found him guilty once again, and he was sentenced to death.
