Elon Musk Visits Paris With Maye Musk and Talulah Riley as Billionaire Warns AI Needs Stronger Regulation

Elon Musk brought together business, technology, and family during a high-profile visit to Paris, where the Tesla and SpaceX CEO met with French leaders, connected with one of the world’s wealthiest business families, and delivered a major warning about the future of artificial intelligence.
During the European trip, Musk was accompanied by his mother, Maye Musk, and his former wife, British actress Talulah Riley. The group attended several events in the French capital, drawing attention not only because of Musk’s business influence but also because of the rare appearance of members of his family alongside him.

The visit came as European leaders continued efforts to strengthen relationships with major technology companies and encourage investment from global entrepreneurs. Musk had already been traveling across Europe, meeting government officials and discussing opportunities involving Tesla, artificial intelligence, and future technologies.
In Paris, Musk met French President Emmanuel Macron for the second time in just over a month. Macron welcomed the opportunity to work with the billionaire entrepreneur, sharing a message encouraging cooperation and investment.
The French government has been interested in attracting more technology investment, particularly as countries compete to become major centers for electric vehicle production, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
During the visit, Musk also met Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of luxury giant LVMH, one of the world’s largest luxury groups. Arnault, one of the richest people on the planet, hosted Musk for lunch at Cheval Blanc, a luxury hotel brand owned by LVMH.
The meeting included two of Arnault’s sons, Antoine and Alexandre. The Arnault family has attracted significant attention because all five of Bernard Arnault’s children hold important roles within LVMH, leading to ongoing speculation about the company’s future leadership.
Following the lunch, Musk appeared at the VivaTech conference alongside Antoine Arnault, where he discussed some of the biggest issues facing the technology industry — especially the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
One of Musk’s strongest messages during the event was a warning about the potential risks of advanced AI systems. He argued that artificial intelligence development needs careful oversight and called for stronger regulation.
“There is a real danger for digital superintelligence having negative consequences,” Musk said while discussing the future of AI.
He added that he supports regulation of the industry, arguing that governments and technology companies need to work together to manage potential risks while still allowing innovation to continue.
Musk’s comments reflected a position he has expressed repeatedly in recent years. While he has invested heavily in artificial intelligence through companies such as xAI, he has also warned that uncontrolled AI development could create serious challenges for society.
Beyond AI, Musk also used the conference to discuss Tesla’s future, particularly autonomous driving technology. He said that achieving fully autonomous vehicles remains one of Tesla’s biggest goals and described autonomy as a major factor behind the company’s valuation.
According to Musk, Tesla’s long-term value depends heavily on its ability to successfully develop self-driving technology. His comments renewed investor interest, with Tesla shares briefly moving higher following the announcement.
However, Tesla’s autonomous driving claims have remained a subject of debate. The company’s Full Self-Driving software still requires active driver supervision, and regulators and critics have continued to examine how the technology is marketed and used.
Despite those challenges, Musk maintained that Tesla is close to reaching a major breakthrough in autonomy, arguing that self-driving technology could fundamentally change transportation.
The Paris visit represented a combination of Musk’s biggest interests: technology, investment, global partnerships, and innovation. From discussions with political leaders to conversations with luxury industry executives, the trip showed the wide range of industries now connected to Musk’s influence.
It also offered a rare public glimpse of Musk alongside important people from his personal life. While his public image is usually dominated by companies, controversy, and futuristic ambitions, the presence of Maye Musk and Talulah Riley added a more personal dimension to the high-profile European tour.
As countries compete for leadership in AI, electric vehicles, and advanced technology, Musk remains one of the most sought-after entrepreneurs in the world — a figure whose decisions can influence not only markets, but also the future direction of entire industries.
