General Hospital: Billy Miller’s Family Is Doing Something Incredible In Honor Of His Memory

There’s no doubt that daytime television fans have been shocked in more ways than one these last several months. Not only was everyone incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of General Hospital alumni Tyler Christopher, but a few weeks before his death, soap stars were gut-punched when they heard that Billy Miller had died, too.

Well, now there are reports that say Billy’s family is doing something incredible to honor the late actor’s memory. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Soaps in Depth, Billy’s family and friends have founded a scholarship in honor of his memory at his alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin.

As many General Hospital fans know by now, Billy had died on September 15th at the age of 43. He reportedly took his own life after struggling with bipolar depression.

The new scholarship will be named the William Jon Miller II “Billy Miller” Memorial and will help students with their financial needs.

Billy’s sister, Megan Hubbell, released a statement that said, “We want something positive to be held in his name in perpetuity through the University he loved. He would be honored to know that even in death, he can help someone else realize their dreams.”

Unfortunately, Billy didn’t make many public appearances ever since he left General Hospital in 2019. At the time, he sent a message to his fans that said, “With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what ‘Goodbye’ means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed, there is another way. Maybe our goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation for lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces that come from embraces given and received.”

So far Billy’s family has not made any additional comments about the matter, but we will definitely update you with all of the latest details as they come in. Watch this space.
