Selena Gomez’s new short ‘sleek shob’ is perfect for autumn

Just as we were starting to wonder whether it’s finally time to retire the sleek bob, Selena Gomez makes an excellent case for it to stay on as our autumn hair go-to.

The singer has been serving up some immaculate beauty looks recently, from red velvet makeup to a rosebud bun, with this effortlessly glam haircut being no exception.

Revealing her new hairstyle at the Rare Impact Fund fundraiser at Los Angeles in early October, Selena gave us a masterclass in exactly how to wear the look, showcasing what we’re dubbing the ‘sleek shob’.

The hairstyle isn’t your classic bob, being closer to a long bob but reaching the shoulders, hence the name shob (‘shoulder’ and ‘bob’).

Selena Gomez wore her hair in a classic, sleek style with a middle part, bucking the popular Italian bob trend which often sees a side part used to create volume. She wore her naturally curly hair straight and added plenty of shine spray for a silky finish

The singer also tucked her hair behind her ears, potentially with small bobby pins, allowing her huge sparkling earrings to take centre stage. In the evening she also paired the shob with several different outfits.

From a silver floor-length dress to a purple floral dress and a turtleneck mini dress with a zebra floral print, is there any outfit Selena can’t pull off?

One thing that remained constant, though, was her sleek hair, proving exactly how versatile the hairstyle is. It literally goes with everything, making the shob the perfect hairstyle for autumn (yes, even under hats!).
