Anne Hathaway’s street style and red-carpet choices often evoke comparisons to Andy Sachs, the magazine assistant she played in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada. But the actor is also fully capable of pulling off a bona fide Miranda Priestly ensemble.
Yesterday in New York City, she wore not one but two monochrome outfits we could easily envision on Priestly, editor in chief of fictional magazine Runway (brilliantly played by Meryl Streep, of course).
Hathaway’s first look of the day, courtesy of Des Phemmes, consisted of an ivory collared button-up and a matching ribbed tank top top, both of which featured sparkling crystal embellishments. She coordinated with white leather cargo pants, metallic silver platform heels from Jimmy Choo, and diamond-encrusted Bulgari jewelry like a chain necklace and flower-shaped rings. For a finishing touch, she added brown tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Later in the day, Hathaway embraced Priestly’s girlboss aesthetic in a white tweed double-breasted blazer and a matching tweed minidress. She accessorized with the same diamond chain choker she had worn earlier in the day, but additionally mixed it up with black shades and white pointed-toe pumps.

The last time Hathaway notably channeled The Devil Wears Prada was at the Michael Kors Collection Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show in September 2022. At the time, she wore a chocolate-brown croc-embossed leather trench coat layered over a brown turtleneck sweater dress. She completed her look with black Louboutin pumps, a coffee-colored clutch, and a wispy fringe that she had similarly repped during her performance as Andy.
