Despite failing a course in his final year, brilliant man bags Chemical Engineering degree with first-class

Despite failing a course in his final year, Chukwuebuka Okonkwo has finally bagged a Chemical Engineering degree with first-class  from the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria.

Okonkwo bagged his bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering with first-class honors from the Federal University of Technology Owerri in Nigeria. Narrating his story on Linkedin, he said though he struggled till the last moment but he his glad to have achieved success.

He mentioned that his academic journey was not an easy one as it was filled with many challenges. Okonkwo mentioned that he once lost his examination script and a lecturer told him he was going to rewrite a course when he seized his empty script.

”I remember when I cried because I had a missing script. I remember when a lecturer told me “I want you to come back next year” after seizing my empty script,” he said.

Okonkwo also mentioned that he retook a course he failed in his final year which made him almost give up. He added that it was during this course that he discovered a new career interest in Data Analysis.

He stated that though he almost gave up on continuing, he was blessed with mentors, friends, and advisors who inspired him to continue to fight and remain determined.

”I remember how I had to write a carryover course in my final year and that was when I started my Journey in Data Analytics I gave up… I really did but thank God for the friends around me,” he said

Okonkwo thanked his friends and colleagues for cheering him on and motivating stating that he was glad they all achieved academic excellence together. He also expressed his gratitude to his mum for encouraging him during his low times.

Okonkwo stated that he is dedicating his achievement to his mum adding that he anticipates what the future has in store for him.
