Thanks to a social media account that tracks Taylor Swift‘s private jets, fans suspect the pop star is on her way to New York City after spending time with her Kansas City Chiefs beau, Travis Kelce. And if the Swifties are correct, it could be for a very good reason.
On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Instagram account @taylorswiftjets posted that Swift (or someone close to her) departed on one of her jets from Kansas City, Mo., en route to Morrisontown, N.J.
The “Welcome to New York” singer had been staying with Kelce during her Eras Tour hiatus (and after a quick trip to London to support Beyoncé at her Renaissance premiere) for the past week. Following the Chiefs’ loss against the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 3, it seems Swift is heading back to her home in NYC. But why did she leave Kansas City so soon?
Swifties reacted to the news in the comments, with one Instagram user writing, “No! It’s too soon to leave him. 😂”

Another fan commented, “Maybe she’s just picking up her cats and more clothes and headed back to KC later tonight…I wouldn’t be surprised 😍.”

Meanwhile, someone else pointed out that Kelce could very well be on the plane with her.

On Dec. 4, Time released the shortlist for its Person of the Year 2023—and the pop star is up for the honor! The finalists include: Swift, Barbie, Hollywood strikers, King Charles III, Vladimir Putin, and Trump prosecutors, among others.
Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour and streams—on top of her Eras Tour concert film, two re-recorded album drops and overall pop culture influence in 2023—certainly make her a top contender. In 2017, she appeared on Time‘s Person of the Year cover alongside other “Silence Breakers” who spoke out against 𝑠e𝑥ual misconduct.
