A police officer arrives at rehab to question Nick and Marie as a therapist watches. Nick offers to answer questions and attempts to take the blame, claiming that Logan caught him hugging his wife, got the wrong idea and they started shoving each other.
Marie won’t let Nick take the blame. In tears, she confesses that she was the one who fought with her husband and knocked him down. He’s dead because of her, and no one else was there to see it. After the cop takes down a statement, he wants to bring her to the station. Nick still has his back up and tries to stop her. She insists that she has to do this.
Jack Attacked
Diane helps Jack hobble back to their room in Tahiti after he’s bitten by a centipede. A doctor checks him out and then Diane ices Jack’s foot while he groans about his wounded ego. They tease each other, sure that Harrison will have a good laugh at him being attacked by a bug and DiDi getting her finger stuck in a bottle. But they are just happy to be together and past all their fighting.
Nate in Recovery
Stephanie brings Nate to his penthouse after his surgery. He wishes he could have been conscious to watch it. She expected him to say that, so she had the procedure recorded. They are excited to watch later and run through their regular jokes about doctors making bad patients. She continues to fuss over him, and he clearly enjoys it. Eventually, she needs to get back to work, at which point Devon and Lily arrive.
Stephanie exits, and their cousin fills them in. He’s cautiously optimistic that the surgery went well. They toast to the Winters family and to him returning to his former profession.
Kyle anxiously paces at the motel as he waits for Victoria. She’s barely through the door before they are pulling off their clothes. He carries her to the bed. After sex, they agree that it was good, but she still thinks hooking up like this is too dangerous and could lead to disaster. They tell themselves it is only physical and they don’t need to answer to anyone. Victoria finally talks him into ending things. They agree to part company, although it’s hard for her to go as they kiss at the door.
Phyllis joins Matt next door with Chinese food, and they can hear someone having a good time through the thin walls. She fills him in on her complicated history with Sharon, their chocolate fountain fight, affairs with Nick, and how “grating” she finds that woman in general. Phyllis is sure that Sharon loves to be the damsel in distress, so they scheme about how to “save” her. When he suggests he rescue her from an allergic reaction, Phyllis abruptly shuts him down and reminds him of what Patty did to Summer.
When Phyllis walks out, Victoria is exiting Kyle’s room. She spots Phyllis calling Lauren and leaps behind the housekeeping cart to hide. The second Phyllis walks off, Victoria hurries back into the room.
The Final Scenes
Back at rehab, Marie tries to make light of her husband’s demise. Since Logan was part of what drove her to drugs, maybe she can finally get clean? She appreciates all Nick has done to help. Nick asks her not to say anything until Michael joins her at the station. Once she is gone, Nick tells the therapist he only wanted to stop Marie from spiraling. She reminds him Marie has to do that on her own.
In Tahiti, Diane tells Jack that the past few months have taught her how much it takes to forgive, and have only made her love Jack more.
In their motel room, Victoria says they would never hear the end of it if Phyllis found out about them. She could blackmail them. He’s confident they will be fine. “Then why was she here?” she wonders.
Phyllis returns to Matt’s room and promises they will think of a way for him to win over the Newmans. Then he can stay with her. Plus, rescuing Sharon will mean she’s no longer afraid of him. Phyllis wants him to be part of her life, and he promises to make all of this worth her time.
Stephanie returns to Nate’s place with some takeout. He asks her to watch the video of the surgery with him on the TV. She’d love it. They cozy up on the couch, and he admits there’s no one he’d rather spend the afternoon with. They kiss.
