Henry Cavill starred in a supernatural horror movie that was just terrible!
Henry Cavill is an iconic actor who knows how to lend his incredible talent to any character that he plays. Before the actor became famous for portraying the role of Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, the actor had his fair share of failures.
Back in 2009, Cavill starred in a supernatural horror movie that somehow connected an occult with the Third Reich! Naturally, the movie was a disastrous failure. Earning very few dollars, the film did manage to get the name of Henry Cavill to the critics who hated the movie but did notice Cavill’s brilliant acting skills!

Although the combination of Henry Cavill starring in a horror movie would have been quite good, Blood Creek wasn’t one of the actor’s strongest movies. Before he was picked up by Zack Snyder in 2013 to star in and as Man of Steel, Cavill had some failures to his name.
Henry Cavill and Dominic Purcell in Blood Creek (2009)
One of the most notable failures was the 2009 film Blood Creek. Directed by Joel Schumacher, the movie dealt with Cavill portraying the character of Evan Marshall alongside his brother Victor Alan Marshall (played by Dominic Purcell). With a family trapping a Nazi occultist in their basement, Victor Alan Marshall becomes a sacrifice to the entity now known as the Wirth.
However, he escapes and makes his way back to his younger brother Evan Marshall (Henry Cavill) and the duo sets off on a revenge quest. In the end, when the final battle is done, the brothers find a map that revealed that SS leader Heinrich Himmler had sent eight more Nazi agents to different farms much like these. The end of the movie sees Dominic Purcell’s character retiring but Henry Cavill goes further in search of other Wirths.
This movie received a rating of 5.3/10 on IMDB upon its release and an average of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. Finding greater and better projects since then, Cavill portrayed the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher and there is a very good reason why he left the franchise!

With an honest portrayal of the mutagenic Witcher with feelings, Henry Cavill was indeed brilliant with his portrayal in Netflix’s The Witcher. However, the actor revealed to Philstar that there was a very genuine reason why he felt like quitting the series for good.
“The toughest part for me was finding that balance between the showrunners’ vision and my love for the books, and trying to bring that Geralt to the showrunners’ vision. It’s about treading a fine line there.”
He further continued,
“It’s the showrunners’ story and so it’s an adaptation. The tricky bit for me was finding Geralt from the books’ place within that and being able to serve both as much as I could.”
Well, having a fair share of failures and successes is part of Henry Cavill’s career in Hollywood. Although Blood Creek received terrible reviews…it’s not the worst film made! The 2009 movie is available to rent on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
