Anne Hathaway was the epitome of elegance as she slipped into a sensational floor length gown to film her latest motion picture in New York City on Wednesday.

The actress, 39, put on a show-stopping display in the elegant number that was emblazoned with gold beads across her chest.

The figure skimming piece showcased her trim waist before fanning down to the ground with layers of delicate chiffon.

Anne draped a longline cream coat over her shoulders for her effortlessly chic look as she took a phone call in the street while the cameras rolled.

Her brunette locks were pulled back off her face  and secured into an elegant high bun and she added a pop of colour with a slick of classy red lipstick.

The radiant star clutched on to a metallic box bag and carried what appeared to be a theatre promgramme.

The romantic comedy from director-writer Rebecca Miller, follows multiple intertwining love stories, across different generations of people, in New York City.

According to Deadline, the film features a composer who is suffering from writer’s block who ‘rediscovers his passion after an adventurous one-night stand.’

It also stars: ‘A couple of gifted teenagers who fight to prove to the parents that their young love is something that can last forever, and a woman who seemingly has it all for whom love arrives in the most unexpected places.’

Anne is set to play a character named Patricia in the motion picture, although the details of her role are currently unknown.

She will star alongside Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei and Brian d’Arcy James with award-winning composer Alexandre Desplat writing the score.

‘He’s so sweet. He’s really playful and we just make each other laugh. We have a really gentle thing,’ she told ET.

‘The little that I know about Jared, is that he cares about what he does, body and soul, so much. And I’m the same way. So, to be able to connect like that over a shared passion, something that we both really love giving ourselves fully to – in a way that I get it, it’s unusual – it was really, really special.

‘I feel really lucky that he was my partner in this.’
