Heartwarming Video: Cristiano Ronaldo Surprises His Mom with a New Porsche on Her 69th Birthday

Cristiano Ronaldo ensured his mother finished 2023 on a high by gifting her a new Porsche for her birthday on New Year’s Eve.

Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, turned 69 on Sunday and the Portuguese superstar flew back to his hometown of Madeira to celebrate with her.

He wasn’t done there either, as he splashed out on a new Porsche Cayenne to give to her, and a video of the moment she was shown her new car has been shared on social media.

Aveiro was taken to the Porsche by Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, and she struggled to hold back the tears after realising the gift she had been given.

The car was wrapped with a huge red ribbon tied in a bow, and Aveiro was overcome with emotion as she hugged her grandson before getting into the car for the first time.

She was then briefly shown how the new car works, while her family, including Ronaldo himself, watched on from inside the garage.

Ronaldo’s sister, Katia, hailed her brother on Instagram for his generous gift to their mother.

Katia posted: ‘If she is happy, it is because her son remembers her and not because of the value of the gift. Honor your father and your mother and your days on earth will be long.’

Ronaldo’s mother has thrown her support behind her son throughout his professional career.

She was reduced to tears when Ronaldo dedicated a goal to her during Portugal’s 4-0 win over Switzerland in June 2022 as she watched on from the stands.

Ronaldo netted 54 goals in 2023 to finish as the world’s top scorer across the calendar year

Dolores also publicly defended him following his falling out with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United in 2022.

She applauded a post on Instagram telling the Dutch manager to ‘f*** off’, while the message also branded Ten Hag ‘a miserable footnote in history’.

Ronaldo has since moved to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia after his United contract was terminated, and he celebrated one year since the deal was announced over the weekend.

He ended 2023 as the world’s top scorer after netting 54 goals in the calendar year for club and country, but will not be able to get his 2024 tally up and running yet, with Al-Nassr not due to return to action until early February.
