Taylor Swift shoots Golden Globes host a death stare after Travis Kelce joke goes wrong

Taylor Swift looked distinctly unimpressed after she became the butt of one of Golden Globes’ host Jo Koy’s gags on Sunday night.

The singer, 34, whose concert film The Eras tour movie was nominated in the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category but lost to Barbie, was enjoying a glass of champagne before Koy, 52, quipped about her romance with Travis Kelce, 34.

He said: ‘Welcome back. As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader.

‘The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL – on the Golden Globes fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.’

The camera then cut to a shot of a stoic Swift sipping on her drink as she failed to crack a smile.

He continued: ‘I swear, there’s more to go to here. Sorry about that.’

The quip sparked backlash from fans who wrote: ‘Cause of death for Jo Koy: That look Taylor Swift gave him as she sipped her drink.’

Another wrote: ‘Does the fool who’s hosting the Golden Globes and just made a joke about Taylor Swift realize millions of viewers had to Google who the hell is Jo Koy!???

Others penned: ‘Oh Joe… don’t come for Ms.Swift ! *takes sip*’

‘Agree. Uncomfortable laughter. And using Taylor Swift in a joke that stopped being funny months ago was a cheap shot.

‘that joke just didn’t make sense and wasn’t funny. why tf u bringing up the NFL only to talk about taylor swift’

Another supported Koy saying: ‘Can Taylor not take a joke? He wasn’t even putting her down it was a diss at the NFL for the way they cover her. It was funny & innocent.

Barbie sensationally beat Taylor‘s The Eras concert movie to win the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award,

It also won out over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Margot Robbie, 33, and director Greta Gerwig, 40, rushed to the stage along with the cast and crew to accept the award – while Swift was a gracious loser as she led the standing ovation.

Fans quickly began to speculate the star had left early after the award snub as she was no longer visible in her seat next to Miles Teller’s wife Keleigh Sperry.

One fan wrote: ‘i think taylor left i don’t see her in the audience anymore’ while another typed: ‘90% sure taylor has left the event she hasn’t been seen since barbie.’
