“I think it’s smart they discontinued the ‘wanna know where this child lives?’ section,” Ryan Reynolds jokingly captioned the clipping
Ryan Reynolds is tapping into his past — and sharing a major PSA.
The Deadpool 2 star gave his Instagram followers a glimpse into his childhood this week with an adorable photo of himself as a toddler during the summer of 1980 in Vancouver, Canada.
The tiny Reynolds, now 42, is grinning at the camera in the vintage black-and-white snapshot, wearing a pair of swimming trunks as he poses next to a pool.
“This is Ryan Reynolds, 3, and he’s enjoying the water at Kits Community Centre wading pool,” the photo’s caption reads, going on to list the would-be actor’s home address and continuing, “This playground and others have supervised programs for tots and kids in summer.”
Wrote Reynolds in his own present-day caption, “This is from my hometown newspaper, back in the day. I think it’s smart they discontinued the ‘wanna know where this child lives?’ section. #HolyS— ”

Blake Lively recently poked fun at husband Reynolds in a hilarious promo video for his upcoming animated film Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, where the father of two described his process of “vanish[ing] into my roles.”
“I was on my way to pick up my daughters from school when I heard that I got the role,” Reynolds said of Inez, 2, and James, 4. “I didn’t show up at school because Detective Pikachu, he doesn’t know who those two little girls are. Who are they?”
The video then showed Lively, 31, who told the camera, “They’re our daughters. He just left them.”
“[Detective Pikachu] doesn’t have a wife,” continued Reynolds. “He’s a little yellow guy. He lives in Ryme City in a briar patch or something.”
