Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson has emerged as a potential new target for Chelsea.
That is according to transfer speculation this morning.
Callum Wilson, 31, is certainly the definition of a proven striker. He’s scored 86 goals in 215 Premier League appearances across his time at Newcastle and Bournemouth.
Interestingly, Chelsea great Eden Hazard retired with 85 goals in 245 Premier League appearances.

FootballTransfers claims on Thursday morning that Newcastle forward Wilson is admired by rivals Chelsea.
It is explained that the Blues are considering matching Newcastle’s €21 million (£18m) asking price for the English attacker, either in January or the summer window.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino’s side feel like the 31-year-old can add valuable quality and experience at Stamford Bridge.
They’re willing to make an exception and overlook the transfer policy of signing young talent for the future.
Chelsea consider Callum Wilson
This new transfer rumour has certainly taken us by surprise.
We’d love to see Chelsea bring in a new centre-forward before the January window shuts, especially someone with a proven record of scoring goals.
Wilson, who’s netted eight times in 20 Newcastle appearances this campaign, actually ticks a lot of boxes as a short-term option. He could actually be a shrewd option for under £20m, too.
However, our greatest concern is that the Magpies striker has been prone to lots of injuries throughout his career.
Described as “brilliant” by Alan Shearer on X, Wilson’s good enough to arrive at Chelsea and score goals. Can you take the risk on his fitness, though?
We do prefer him to alternative options that have been linked. For instance, Aston Villa’s 20-year-old forward Jhon Duran.
The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are considering a bid to sign Villa youngster Duran.
In our view, we’d much prefer taking a risk on Wilson than the inexperience of Duran.
