Golf betting has produced some memorable stories over the years, providing moments of joy and surprise to those who were brave enough to bet. Here are some of the most memorable bets in golf history:

Masters Tournament 2019 – Tiger Woods: When Tiger Woods won his 15th Major at the Masters Tournament in 2019, eleven years after his last Major, few would have predicted this outcome, considering his recent health issues.

However, James Adducci bet $85,000 on Woods to win, resulting in a check for $1,275,000. The Players Championship 2023 – Scottie Scheffler: In 2023, Scottie Scheffler showed up at The Players in great form, winning the title by a five-shot margin.

A bettor placed a $300,000 bet on him to win, taking home a check for $3,300,000. Waste Management Phoenix Open & Qatar Masters 2012: In 2012, a bettor bet on the combined victory of Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano at the Qatar Masters and Kyle Stanley at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Although the bet wasn’t completely correct, the lucky bettor won £140,000 thanks to an error in the winner’s indication. 2021 Combination Bet: A bettor placed a football and golf combination bet predicting wins for several players in the same week, including Steve Stricker, Nelly Korda, Viktor Hovland and Harris English.

The £11.50 bet generated an incredible win of £1,039,544. Finally, outside the world of golf betting, but still tied to the world of gambling, there are stories like that of John Daly, known for his big wins and losses at the blackjack table.

Daly claimed to have won as much as $9,300,000 on a single win, but also admitted to losing $6,200,000 on a bad day at blackjack. Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods, born on December 30, 1975, in Cypress, is an American professional golfer.

Regarded by many as the greatest golfer of all time, as well as the best of the modern era, Woods has had a multi-decade career filled with remarkable achievements. He has won a total of 110 professional tournaments, including 15 major championships, making him the most decorated player in golf history.

Woods held the number one position in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) for a total of 683 weeks, including a consecutive streak of 281 weeks from June 12, 2005, to October 30, 2010. He is the only golfer to have won all four major tournaments of the modern era within a single year, accomplishing this feat between 2000 and 2001.

In 2014, Woods became the first athlete in the world to surpass one billion dollars in earnings from victories and sponsorships. He was later surpassed by Michael Jordan, and as of 2023, his net worth is estimated at 1.8 billion dollars, making him the second-highest-paid athlete of all time.

In 2019, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
