According to an exclusive insider who spoke with DailyMail.com, “Shakira is desperate to fall in love—but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira.”

In February, Shakira and Lucien Laviscount met on the shoot of her Punteria music video, whereupon they fell in love.

The pair are casually dating, sources tell DailyMail.com, but are not ‘heavily involved’

‘The women he has been with are all very different. Now he is seeing Shakira – and she wants love.

‘But her friends fear he just wants people to know his name and she provides that. They are seeing each other but are not heavily involved yet.’

They claimed that she is ‘not over her ex’ Gerard Piqué and that everyone around her ‘knows that Lucien is a rebound.’

‘She is dating someone who they fear is a player and she is going to get burned,’ they finished.

Shakira met the British-born celebrity on the set of her video, in which he plays her love interest, back in February. Shakira and Gerard are parents to two boys, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer is seen hugged by him, and in another scene, she is shown wiping blood from the chest of a topless Lucien who has been shot with an arrow and lying across her lap with nothing but a loin cloth covering his modesty.

The two were seen having supper at the Italian eatery Carbone in New York City a few days after the video was released.

Lucien matched Shakira’s all-black outfit, which included a black corset and leather jacket.

Friends, meanwhile, worry that the Emily in Paris star is merely pursuing celebrity.

On the set of Shakira’s video, where Lucien played her love interest, the two had an intimate moment. There were scenes when Lucien was shot with an arrow and left topless.

Kerry Katona, the former vocalist of Atomic Kitten, and Lucien were linked before the Columbian beauty.

On Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, Lucien met Kerry when he was 19 and she was 31. Following their departure from the home, they were linked after being seen on camera sharing a kiss and cuddle.

Kerry recently addressed reports she dated Lucien, telling OK! magazine: ‘Lucien was very charming when I met him in the Celebrity Big Brother house and we had a good time, but he was never officially my boyfriend…’

In November 2021, he was also connected to Jesy Nelson, a vocalist for Little Mix, when they were seen cuddling up in the back of a London rickshaw.

Shakira was with her ex-partner Gerard for 11 years before they broke up in the summer of 2022 due to accusations that he was unfaithful. Shakira made a last-minute agreement with Spanish authorities to avoid going to jail for tax fraud last year.

Since then, he’s started dating 26-year-old Clara Chia Marti.

After her breakup with the Spanish football player, Shakira talked about “rebuilding” her life and said she used her anguish to inspire her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

‘There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together,’ she told the Times. ‘And the glue that kept it all together was music.’
