The latest: Ronda Rousey, 32, will join the cast of Fox’s 9-1-1 for its third season, playing a Los Angeles firefighter named Lena Bosko who is ‘a fearless member of the LAFD’s Station 136,’ Fox said Thursday

The procedural drama, which focuses on first responders in the City of Angels, was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear.

A third season trailer released Wednesday showed the team dealing with a tsunami hitting at the Santa Monica Pier.

Rousey has past honed her acting chops in projects like the 2018 action film Mile 22 alongside Mark Wahlberg, the 2015 Entourage film where she played herself, 2015’s Furious 7 and 2014’s The Expendables 3.

The Riverside, California native rose to fame winning a bronze medal for judo at the 2008 Olympics, and going on to be the first-ever bantamweight champion of the UFC, and one of its most celebrated athletes.

Last year, she inked a contract with WWE, and has since taken on Nikki Bella, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

She was given the nickname Rowdy by late pro wrestling icon Roddy Piper, who told Vice in 2014 of how he reacted when she asked if she could use the moniker.

‘She was so, so excited and so beautiful, saying, “Would you mind? I’ll make you proud and I’m giving it everything you got,”‘ said Piper, who died in July of 2015. ‘And I said, “You go, gal. You go!” Somebody asked me, “What would you think if ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey would become the face of the UFC?”

‘I said I think it would be great. I think it would be a really great thing.’

9-1-1’s third season debuts on Fox September 23 at 8/7c.
