On Monday, Perry announced her new album’s lead single, “Woman’s World,” on TikTok. Rumors of Dr. Luke’s involvement quickly circulated, and Rolling Stone confirmed the news through a source at Capitol Records. “Katy knew exactly the album she wanted to make and put together the team to make it happen,” the source said. “And that includes previous collaborators including Luke, Stargate, Max Martin, and Sarah Hudson.”

Dr. Luke, who co-produced many of Perry’s hits like “California Gurls” and “Roar,” had not worked with her since 2013’s “Prism.” The following year, Kesha accused Dr. Luke of 𝑠e𝑥ual, physical, and emotional abuse, leading to a protracted legal battle.
