‘Julie [Andrews] wants to do it. Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen.
‘It’s just we don’t want to unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it.
‘It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it.’

This isn’t the first time the third instalment of the popular movie has been talked about and in 2016 Julie Andrews spoke about how the potential film would honour the original director Garry Marshall.
Gary died in July 2016 aged 81, he also directed Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and Valentine’s Day.
Speaking to BuzzFeed after the director passed away, Julie said: ‘There’s talk about it. And [Hathaway]’s very keen to do it. I would very willingly and happily do it.
‘I think we might do it in honor of him. Annie had an idea that she wanted to pursue about it, and I’m all for it, so if she’d like to… well, we would love to see Mia return to the big screen!’
